Yesterday, the Nationals Youth Baseball Academy distributed holiday gifts to its Scholar Athletes and their families. An annual tradition, the event was adapted for the second time from a holiday party to a drive-through format to ensure the health and safety of all participants. Staff from the local office of law firm Mintz have supported the gift drive since 2014, contributing over $20,000 in gifts since the event began. This year, 100 Scholar Athletes created wish lists from which they each received one gift. Racing President Teddy Roosevelt stopped by to greet Scholar Athletes and hand out holiday gifts along with Academy staff and volunteers.
The Washington Nationals Youth Baseball Academy provides critical support and year-round programming, imparting a lasting impact on the lives of school-age children living in Wards 7 and 8.
